Sophie Marsham

Sophie Marsham lives and works in London. Since leaving the Chelsea School of Art in 1993, with a BA (Hons) in Public Art and Design, Sophie has created sculptures in metal and found objects. Her work is often designed and made for installation in buildings and public spaces.

The sculptures vary in scale from tiny hand-held pieces to public works of over 6 metres. She has had many commissions and exhibited extensively both Nationally and Internationally.

Some of her most notable sculptures include the following;

The Brewery, Cheltenham, UK. Made two barley sculptures, 6 metres high for this shopping centre.

Aspria, Hamburg, Germany. Created a hanging sculpture of 500 owls for the entrance of this private member’s sports club.

Salmon Properties. For Leigh in Greater Manchester, Sophie made a permanent sculpture 4 metres high in stainless steel depicting silk moths.

Leo Burnett Adverting, London. Sophie created a 3 metre steel apple tree for the reception space.

The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman. Sophie created the main sculpture for this prestigious hotel.

Moor House, City of London. Work is currently on display at this Norman Foster designed building.

Pret A Manger. For their flag ship store in Oxford Street, London, Sophie created 5 large-scale sculptures including a giant copper chicken and steel tuna fish.

Harvey Nichols, London. Sophie designed and made the Christmas window displays for 26 windows.
