Jack Vettriano
Jack Vettriano was one of Britain's most popular and commercially successful contemporary artists, celebrated for his distinctive cinematic style and evocative storytelling. Jack Vettriano's Tension, Timing, Triumph – Monaco 1971 is a powerful triptych inspired by Sir Jackie Stewart's historic third victory at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1971. Created in collaboration with Stewart, the three paintings tell a cinematic story of one of motor racing's most iconic moments: Tension captures the anticipation as Stewart walks towards the starting grid, Timing depicts his wife Helen carefully recording lap times with a stopwatch, and Triumph celebrates the couple's emotional embrace following victory. Unveiled in Monaco by Prince Albert II in 2008, the series combines Vettriano's trademark storytelling and atmosphere with a compelling narrative of determination, partnership and sporting achievement.
